About Alt Fashion

The Alt Fashion directory launched back in 2007 as a sister site to Alt Fashion when our links page overgrew somewhat! The directory was always intended as a platform for alternative sites and shops around the UK, a place where readers could find their nearest shops with ease, whatever their style.

Today, the Alt Fashion directory links up hundreds of UK alternative web shops and shops across the country, linking them together by style and type, so you can find those elusive future purchases with ease.

Whether you adore gothic style, prefer something more custom made to your own style, or some pre-loved vintage fashion, you'll be able to find a great selection of web shops based here within the UK to shop from.

Run by the team here at Alt Fashion, who live for alternative style, so you know that you won't be finding just any old web shops, only those that cater for alternative fashion are linked up within our pages, so you can be sure that your clicking a link to a truly alternative business.

To make shopping even easier, you'll find each style category is broken down into gender (not that that matters to us, but we know it makes it easier for some when shopping), and for womenswear, by size, so you can find smaller sized and plus sized clothing at a mere click - as we know how stressful it can be shopping for your size, speaking from past shopping experiences.

Our shops section has been put together to help you find local shops easily, whether it's finding a new favourite, or looking for shops to visit on a trip, simply click on the region (i.e Midlands) to see a list of shops by town and city in that area.

Of course, no directory is 100% perfect, but we update our site on a monthly basis to ensure that you get the most up to date list of shops and web shops around the UK. We perform dead link checks twice a year to remove any closed shops and sites, and we constantly monitor social media to look out for any newly opened shops also.

Our directory wouldn't be where it is today without your help, a third of our listed shops come from you, our readers, sending us links to your favourite shops, if you spot any missing links or shops that you regularly visit, get in touch and send us the details so that we can share your much beloved shops with our readers.

Today, Alt Fashion exists purely as an alternative archive, a look back at a previous time in the alternative fashion world.

The site may no longer be updated, but it's still online continuing to provide those essential resources for this independent industry.
